Jessica Vital-Carona, PharmD, MS, is the current System Associate Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services at Yale New Haven Health. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston, Massachusetts in 2007 and a master’s in science in Healthcare Management from Bay Path University in 2024. Dr. Vital-Carona completed her PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency at Yale New Haven Hospital and went on to complete a PGY-2 also at Yale New Haven Hospital in pediatrics with a focus in critical care. Since the completion of residency training, she has had the pleasure of diverse and profound experiences including acting clinical manager of neonatal medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital at Columbia, senior specialist of pediatrics at Yale New Haven Hospital and regional manager of pharmacy services for the Northern Region of Baystate Health in Massachusetts. Dr. Vital-Carona excitedly returned to Connecticut and Yale New Haven Health in 2019 and most recently transitioned as the System Associate Director leading inpatient acute care clinical practice and of pharmacy practices for Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital.
In her role, she enjoys the vast collaboration of practice she encounters throughout the health system and takes great passion in the mentorship and professional growth of colleagues. Dr. Vital-Carona is delighted for the opportunity to continue to cultivate growth, connections, education, and opportunities among the pharmacy professionals of Connecticut as upcoming president-elect.
Danielle DiCostanzo, PharmD, BCPS is the Clinical Coordinator and Residency Program Coordinator at Middlesex Health, where she leads clinical initiatives, coordinates the pharmacy residency and experiential education programs, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to improve medication safety and patient care. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry at Connecticut College. Dr. DiCostanzo then completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Yale New Haven Hospital. She is actively involved in numerous health system committees, including Pharmacy & Therapeutics, Institutional Review Board, Stroke, and Clinical Pathway Council. She is passionate about professional development, mentorship, and advancing the practice of health-system pharmacy. She looks forward to the opportunity to serve the Connecticut Society of Health-System Pharmacists as Secretary and contribute to the organization’s mission and continued success.
Madyson Allard, PharmD, BCPPS, earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She completed her residency training at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in 2021, where she continued her career as a multi-specialty pharmacist. She then moved to Connecticut to work at Yale New Haven Hospital, serving as a pediatric clinical pharmacist in the emergency department and
intensive care units.
Since joining the University of Saint Joseph in 2023, Dr. Allard has served as IPPE Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Administration. She is board certified in pediatric pharmacy and brings expertise in pediatric acute care and clinical decision-making to her teaching and mentorship. Her professional interests center on advancing pediatric pharmacy practice, developing future pharmacists through experiential education and applied clinical skills, and promoting safe, evidence-based care for patients across clinical settings.
Madyson has served as the CSHP Secretary this past year and hopes to continue her leadership with the board in the Junior Director position to further her role within the education committee, putting on events like the Great Eight and Catch the Wave.
