Gov. Lamont will declare March 7 to be “Pharmacy Day in Connecticut”! We have worked with the Governor’s office to have this declaration prepared and will have it on hand for the event. It is likely that the declaration will be read aloud in the legislature during the morning events of the day.

Connecticut Pharmacy Exhibition From 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., we have reserved the Capitol/LOB Concourse (the long hallway that connects the LOB to the Capitol Building) to present exhibits, demonstrations, etc.

You are invited you to set up a tabletop or small standing exhibit—bring handouts, giveaways, branded materials, etc. At the very least, bring some literature that we can distribute.

Interactive and educational exhibits are particularly invited! Let’s educate our legislators about what pharmacists can do! Please contact Nathan Tinker ntinker@ctpharmacists.org if you will need an exhibit/tabletop space.

BP Monitoring Stations. As part of the exhibit space, there will be 4 BP stations set up. Passersby will have the opportunity to stop in for a quick BP check, performed by students from the UCONN and USJ Schools of Pharmacy. Contact your student chapter President if you would like to participate. Neha Siddiqui nsiddiqui@usj.edu  and Jack Malespini jack.malespini@uconn.educ

Legislator Wine Reception - the big event! From 4:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., we will present our annual wine reception in the LOB Atrium. PLEASE SEND INVITATIONS TO YOUR LEGISLATORS! Click to find them.

Note: Lunch is on your own. There is a cafeteria on site at the Capitol and restaurants nearby.

Make Pharmacy Day more effective! We ask you to meet with your legislator the afternoon before the reception to educate them on the issues and throughout the year. To make an appointment, please use this link to find your legislators' contact information at home and at work. Then email your legislator to ask to schedule an appointment.  Introduce yourself as a pharmacist constituent (student or pharmacist) who would like to discuss issues that impact you professionally.

We encourage you to get involved in these efforts by participating in our annual Pharmacy Day at the Capitol and by contacting your representatives. To find out who represents you in CT government, visit the following sites:
